The first day will focus on blockchain and AI, the two intertwined emerging technologies that have received the most buzz in recent years. Can Nigeria, and Africa at large, leverage AI to solve some of its most pressing challenges? Will the region’s rapid adoption of blockchain give it an edge in the AI era? This and more questions will be addressed by some of the leading minds in these sectors.
Among the speakers will be Lorien Gamaroff, the CEO and co-founder of Bitcoin wallet Centbee. Based in Johannesburg, Centbee is a regional leader whose innovative approach has seen thousands in its native South Africa and beyond able to make day-to-day payments through BSV blockchain.
Other speakers will include Jimmy Nguyen, the CEO of Blockchain for All; Lise Li, the head of the BSV Blockchain Hub in China; VX Technologies’ Catherine Lephoto; and Derek Hogenkamp, the chairman of Yalla Ltd.
In addition to the presentations, local and regional firms will showcase their innovative applications leveraging AI and blockchain. Upcoming startups will have the opportunity to pitch to potential investors as some attendees are treated to hands-on workshops.
Revolutionizing the government through technology will be the focus of the second day, with consumer tech and the creative economy at the heart of Day 3’s presentations. Key policymakers, industry movers, and shakers will take to the stage to discuss the role of emerging technology in the public and private sectors and delve into the state of local and global regulations.
