my2cents is the latest Web 3.0 application to launch on the BSV blockchain.

“my2cents is a ‘super app,’ a closed ecosystem of many apps that people would use every day because they offer a seamless, integrated, contextualized, and efficient experience,” said Dr. Maximilian Sinan Korkmaz, the founder of my2cents.

my2cents empowers users and allows them to earn an income through an on-chain economy with an ad-revenue share model where they can receive money for the content and services they publish and offer respectively, and receive ad revenue proportional to their UserScore on my2cents.

“The userScore on my2cents is a measure of how high the quality and the quantity of the posts of a specific user is. On my2cents, 60% of the ad revenue is distributed to all users according to their userScore. The higher the userScore, the more ad revenue the user receives,” said Dr. Korkmaz.

“The userScore is a means to reward the users whose content has higher quality and quantity. Unlike most other blockchain apps, we have created a non-minus-sum game for users, adding the advertisers to the equation. This will provide us with the opportunity to give the brilliant individual in financially disadvantaged regions [a way] to earn money in an honorable way. It is a talent arbitrage, especially [for] content creators from developing countries [because they] will have the opportunity to sell their content to content-consumers from all over the world,” Dr. Korkmaz added.

my2cents has officially launched and users can begin using the platform without entering any personal identification information, such as name, email address, or phone number. At the moment, users who join my2cents can select a topic and create either a text-based post or upload a video under that topic. Topics can be thought of like different channels on a forum, where the conversation or content published in that section should relate to the topic in some way.

“We started with “Home” and “myVid” to let the user get used to our unique topic-based system, which is different from the people-based system,” said Dr. Korkmaz.

“As the English-speaking audience is not used to this concept, we would like to give them enough time to digest how my2cents works, before we fully deploy all features,” he added.

A web 3.0 portal

Web 3.0 is the next iteration of the internet. There is no clear consensus on what Web 3 will look like just yet, but many people say that web 3.0 will have decentralized components that empower their end-users by giving them greater control and ownership rights on the apps and services they use on the internet.

“We would like to end the toxic culture Twitter has been deliberately building, the exploitation Facebook has been practicing, and even the slavery system Google has been enjoying,” noted Dr. Korkmaz.

my2cents changes the status quo created by tech giants through its peer-to-peer economy, where users have the opportunity to earn money and increase their UserScore when they post text-based content, upload videos, publish books, pitch to investors, get recruited for jobs, publish podcasts, buy and sell goods and services, sell/order food, and play the legendary soccer manager game, Championship Manager.

A peer-to-peer economy made possible by micropayments creates a variety of new business opportunities. When individuals can publish their content and offer services on-chain, and the proof of work—UserScore—given to them by other users of the platform signals that there is value in the content or service being offered, a new way to measure worth arises which benefits both the platform and its users.

“As Buckminster Fuller stated, in order to change an existing paradigm, you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model. You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called,” said Dr. Korkmaz.

“We are creating web 3.0, and making web 2.0 obsolete.”
